PRIZES & RECOGNITION

Total Prize Pool: ₹1,65,000 + Mentoring & Industry Guidance

  • All teams qualifying for and participating in Round 1 will receive certificates
  • Top 10–15 teams (final number at organizers' discretion) from Round 1 will qualify for Round 2, each receiving ₹5,000.
  • Round 2 — 1st Place: ₹50,000
  • Round 2 — 2nd Place: ₹25,000
  • Round 2 — 3rd Place: ₹15,000
  • Certificates and medals will be awarded as per internal rules and guidelines.
  • Additional benefits include industry mentorship, certifications, and other added advantages beyond monetary prizes.

About the Event

Know About YUTRY

YUTRY invites students and teams from Tiruchirappalli to submit and pitch their startup ideas across three progressive rounds — Round 0, Round 1, and Round 2. Teams will be evaluated at each stage, with shortlisted teams to be provided with personal industry mentorship, evaluation feedback, and the opportunity to compete for cash prizes, certificates, and medals.

It’s a great opportunity to take your startup idea beyond the drawing board and grow it into something real.

Idea Screening (Online)

Round 0 submissions must be made in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) or PDF.

Slide Format: 7 slides in total

Core (mandatory — topics may be merged across slides):
  • Problem Statement (for example: who faces this problem, how often, and how significant it is, etc.)
  • Solution (for example: the idea in one clear line and how it works, competition/differentiation may be merged into this slide, etc.)
  • Target customer & market (for example: who pays, rough market size, etc.)
  • Business model — how the idea generates revenue
  • Why you / why now (for example: founder-market fit, unique insight or edge, etc.)
  • Teams can add or modify details within this structure to best represent their idea — the format is a guide, not a rigid template — but all core topics must be covered.

Round 1 — Full Pitch (IIM Tiruchirappalli, Offline)

Teams that qualify from Round 0 will be intimated and must proceed to Round 1. Round 1 submission (PPT) must be made by 7th September 2026, EOD — this deadline is final and must be met at any cost.
The Round 1 pitch event will be held at IIM Tiruchirappalli, starting at 9:15 AM on 9th September 2026. Each team will get 15 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the judges.

Slide Format: 8–10 core slides + optional slides

Core (mandatory — topics may be merged across slides):
  • Problem + Solution (recap, tight)
  • Market sizing (for example: TAM, SAM, SOM, etc.)
  • Product — how it works (e.g. screenshots, prototype walkthrough, etc.)
  • Business model — pricing and unit economics
  • Go-to-market (for example: first 100 customers, channels, etc.)
  • Competitive positioning — map or comparison
  • Traction (for example: users, pilots, LOIs, revenue, waitlist, etc.)
  • Financials model and projected financial statements
  • Team — roles and why this team executes
  • Milestones/roadmap — next 6–12 months
Optional (add if applicable):
  • Live demo or prototype walkthrough
  • Risk & mitigation slide
  • Vision slide — where this goes in the next 6–12 months
  • Teams can merge, add, or modify details within this structure to best represent their startup.

Detailed rules, logistics, and further instructions for the offline Round 1 event will be shared directly with qualifying teams after Round 0 results are announced.

Mentorship & Support
  • Teams qualifying for Round 1 will be provided a dedicated industry mentor to help develop and shape their business ideas.
  • Mentorship support will continue through to Round 2.

Round 2 — Finale (IIM Tiruchirappalli, Offline)

Teams qualifying from Round 1 will proceed to Round 2, which will be held on 21st November 2026 at IIM Tiruchirappalli.
Further details and format for Round 2 will be shared with qualifying teams after the Round 1 results are announced.
