YUTRY 2017

Further to the grand success of YUTRY 2015, CII-Yi has organised its second edition of “YUTRY 2016 – “National Conference on Entrepreneurship – Sharpen Your Saw” which is scheduled on 22^nd & 23^rd, January 2016 at Hotel Sangam, Trichy. The conference strives with the objective to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit in young Indians through interaction with legends and by endeavoring to emulate them on path to success. And the hallmark of the event is the Start up Competition-Sharpen Your Saw where students, graduates and people who were interested in entrepreneurship will compete for the best start up plans.

Day 1 of the conference started with the welcome remarks by Ponnambalam Balakrishnan, Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & Director-Solutions, tagbridge Solutions followed by the address of Sampath S, Vice Chairman, CII Trichy Zone & Chief Executive Operations, Velmurugan Industries. The keynote speaker for the inaugural was given by Bharath KS, Chairman, Aparajitha Group, who emphasised the importance of interest and good planning to become a successful entrepreneur. The closing remarks for the inaugural were given by B Prative Chand, Co-Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & CEO, CARE Group of Institutions.

We also had a session called Startup foundation by Sivarajah R, Founder & President, Nativelead Foundation wh briefed about the basic things we have keep in mind before entering entrepreneurship and also he emphasized on the importance of selecting the stakeholders for the business. This session also had B Prative Chend, Co-Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & CEO, CARE Group of Institutions.

The afternoon session of Day 1 started with the session named “Stepping into Entrepreneurship” which had Sujith Kumar, Head-HR, Infosys as a special keynote speaker who made the crowd go crazy by his hilarious and motivating speech this session also had Fathima Bathool Maluk, Immdt Past Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & CEO, MAM School of Architecture. Following this a Master class on Blue ocean strategy was given by Gowrishankar, Director, Malaysia Blue Ocean Strategy Institute in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who mage the attendees to think out of the box and clearly explained the concept of Red ocean and Blue ocean. With this session day 1 was wrapped up and we had a gala dinner with the members from Yi, CII and guests who came for the conference.

Day 2 of the session started with the welcome address by Mr Senthilnathan, Co-Chair-Learning Vertical, Yi-Trichy & Managing Director, RIBO Industries and we had a keynote speaker Shankar Narayanan, Former Chairman and CEO, Spime Inc who delivered his speech on a topic Silicon Valley Experience & an Indian Entrepreneurs Global Story. Following this, we entered into the competition mode with the briefing of rules by Mr Arun Rebero, Member, Yi-Trichy Chapter & Director-Contura Group. Then the presentation about the start-up plans was given by the top 10 teams.

Afternoon session of day 2 started with the panel discussion on a topic “Entrepreneurs Journey” with the Trichy based entrepreneurs who shared their views about their entrepreneurship journey, The panellists were Sugumar N, Executive Director, Top Anil Marketing Company, Somasundaram, Managing Director, AMMAN Steel Group and Senthilnathan, Managing Director, RIBO Industries. The session was moderated by Prof Sriraman, Bharthidasan Institute of Management(BIM).

Followed by the panel discussion, the valediction of the two-day conference started with the Ponnambalam Balakrishnan, Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & Director-Solutions, tagbridge Solutions and the introduction of the keynote speaker was given by B Prative Chand, Co-Chair, Yi Trichy Chapter & CEO, CARE Group of Institutions. The valedictory Keynote Address was given by Dr A Velumani, CEO, Thyrocare who done a presentation about his journey from Coimbatore to Mumbai. Apart from his motivational and joyful speech, he gave three words to the crowd to remember till their life in the order “Focus, Learn and Grow”. And the acculturation and results of the event were given by Sivarajah R, Founder & President, Nativelead Foundation and the prizes were distributed followed by the sponsors and volunteer recognition. The summing up of the two-day conference and vote of thanks was given by John Ashok Varadarajan, Organising Chair, YUTRY 2016 & Vice Chairman, Roever Group of Institutions to wrap up the conference for 2016.
